| Sandwell Mental Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust is the major provider of mental health and specialist health learning disabilities services to people of all ages in Sandwell. These services are provided at our three hospitals and a number of other sites in the borough as well as in the community and in people’s homes. The Trust employs just over 1000 staff, including psychiatrists, psychologists, mental health nurses, occupational therapists, family therapists and social workers, as well as seconded Approved Social Workers.
With effect from 1st February 2009 we have been granted Foundation Trust status by the independent regulator, Monitor, and look forward to delivering the benefits of FT status to our service users.
The Trust is committed to helping banish the stigma that surrounds mental health and learning disabilities and is pleased to be supporting the ’A Time to Change’ campaign that seeks to end mental health discrimination.
